Our Vision

We envision a charitable institution that operates Christian service in the spirit of Christ, with love and compassion for the poor and socially marginalized, as exemplified by the Patron Saint Martin de Porres.

We aim to improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries through self-reliance and the development of a spirit of service and generosity.

Our Mission

To uplift the dignity and quality of life of the needy parishioners of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish Cubao, Quezon City through social, educational, and charitable undertakings.

Our History

The organization traces its roots back to 1958, when the Blessed Martin de Porres Clinic was established in a bodega by the Young Ladies Association of Charity (YLAC) and the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Anselmo Bustos, SVD, then Parish Priest of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Cubao, Quezon City. Later, the clinic was relocated to a small building within the parish compound to better serve the community.

On March 16, 1961, the clinic formally evolved into Blessed Martin de Porres, Inc., officially registered as a nonprofit organization with a 25-year charter. In the same year, the CWL and the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) launched the Hot Kitchen program to address malnutrition among undernourished children. This was followed by the establishment of the Children’s Day Care Center on May 17, 1965, offering early childhood education and nutrition services.

In 1969, following the canonization of Saint Martin de Porres, the organization’s name was officially changed from Blessed Martin de Porres Center, Inc. to Saint Martin de Porres Center, Inc. to honor its patron saint.

Between 1972 and 1973, Rev. Fr. Francis Kutscher, SVD, then-Assistant Parish Priest and later Parish Priest, sought support from foreign benefactors in Germany to sustain the charitable activities of the Parish. Donations from MENSCHEN und MISSIONARE in NOT, a German foundation, enabled the organization to acquire a 2,538 sqm lot, where a Day Care Center was constructed. Additionally, the Bayanihan Lions Club of Quezon City donated funds for a Medical Clinic Building to expand healthcare services.

Our Patron: Saint Martin de Porres

A Champion for the Poor and Beacon of Hope

Saint Martin de Porres is a powerful symbol of hope and a true champion for social justice. Born in Lima, Peru, into a world of poverty and prejudice as the son of a Spanish nobleman and a freed Panamanian woman of African descent, he understood hardship firsthand. Despite the injustices he faced, he dedicated his entire life to serving others with boundless love and humility. Known as “The Father of Charity,” Saint Martin saw Christ in everyone, especially the poor, the sick, and the outcast. He didn’t just pray for them; he rolled up his sleeves and worked tirelessly, establishing an orphanage and a hospital to care for the most vulnerable children and families in his community.
